Reagan Wilson

Senior Legal Partner & Director
With more than 20 years’ experience practicing exclusively in family law, Reagan is the only lawyer on the Darling Downs and South-West to be recognized by the leading and independent Doyle’s Guide as the pre-eminent in Family and Divorce Lawyers every year since 2015. He again individually achieved the highest three (3) legal industry’s rankings for Regional Queensland in 2022 and the practice has ranked as the First Tier Family Law Firm every year since its inception. In 2017, he was a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly Australian Family Law Partner of the Year Awards. Reagan provides representation without peer and brings a personalised one-to-one approach to every family law matter in which he is engaged. Teigan Jones

Legal Partner & Director

Teigan was recognised as one of Queensland’s Family Law Rising Stars by the independent Doyles Guide legal rankings in 2020 and 2021, and as a recommended Leading Family & Divorce Lawyer in the Toowoomba, Darling Downs & Western Queensland region for 2022.

As a graduate, Teigan worked as the Legal Associate to the Honourable Justice Michelle May in the Appeals Division of the Family Law Court of Australia.

Following admission to the legal profession in 2011, Teigan has practiced exclusively within Family Law, building a highly focused expertise.

Teigan has worked with Reagan since 2012 and recently became a Director and Legal Partner of Wilsons – The Family Lawyers in 2021.

Using her strong knowledge of the legal system and processes pertaining to Family Law, Teigan is comfortable working within the jurisdiction however works to keep families out of the system whenever practical – Teigan prefers to focus on negotiation, mediation and pragmatic, workable solutions for clients willing and able to avoid the delays and cost of litigation.

Teigan has completed her Masters of Applied Law (Family Law). She is a graduate fellow of the College of Law Ltd, and a member of the Family Law Practitioner Association, Family Law Section of the Law Council Australia and the Women’s Legal Association of Queensland Inc.

John Patterson

Legal Partner & Director

John is admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland and High Court of Australia, and has worked in the Darling Downs and Brisbane regions for his entire career. In addition to his Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, John also holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Economics.

John brings a wealth of experience across a variety of family law areas including complex financial matters which utilises his background in business, particularly involving trust and corporate structuring and self-managed superannuation funds. John is skilled in matters of spousal maintenance, and the preparation of Financial Agreements and Child Support Agreements. Through collaborations with local professionals such as accountants and financial planners, John ensures that all aspects of his clients’ financial circumstances are considered, and appropriate strategies are utilised within their family law matter to achieve optimum results.

John is also experienced in dispute resolution, domestic violence matters, and parenting matters; including those involving relocation, parental alienation, complex mental health issues, substance abuse, and family violence. With his calm and likeable nature, he effortlessly puts his clients at ease during what is often one of the most difficult periods in their lives. His pragmatic and level-headed approach to matters is well respected by clients and colleagues alike.

Katherine Marshall

Legal Partner & Director

Katherine has completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Criminology concurrently and was admitted as a legal practitioner in June 2011.

Katherine has worked exclusively with Reagan in family law since 2016 and has a passion for this area of law.

Assisting clients to implement appropriate arrangements for their children is one of Katherine’s key areas of expertise. She works with clients to identify an arrangement that is in the best interests of their children and pragmatically works with the other side in achieving that outcome.

Katherine also has an interest in matters relating to the division of property and, in particular, helping clients transition smoothly to a position where they are financially independent from their former spouse. Katherine’s diverse background in other areas of law (particularly Business Structuring and Asset Protection) allows her to deal with the most complex property matters such as companies and trusts, with ease and efficiency.

Reilly Wilson

Solicitor
Commencing with Wilsons in 2019 at the firm’s inception, Reilly has completed a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice and is a second generation of Wilson to commence practice exclusively in family law. Reilly has had significant experience in all facets of family law, including property settlement matters, parenting arrangements, child support and domestic violence matters. This significant exposure has allowed him to establish his reputation within the profession. He continues to work closely with the directors of Wilsons and engages in matters often in conjunction with Reagan, John and Katherine. Reilly develops and maintains relationships with clients and other business professionals. He engages with both professionalism and pragmatism in his client interactions to ensure that clients have a clear and certain pathway forward. He has been a committee member of the Toowoomba Childrens Contact Centre since 2020, a not-for-profit community organisation that allows parents (in certain circumstances) to see their children whilst under the direct supervision of accredited supervisors. Reilly has an enduring connection with Toowoomba, having completed his schooling at Toowoomba Grammar School prior to commencing his studies. He continues to engage in a number of local sports and events, primarily for a local rugby union club. Reilly, outside of his work, has a keen interest in four-wheel driving, camping, and travelling. Reilly’s commitment to his work, and platinum standard of client service, ensures that he continues to provide succinct advice for the swift progression and resolution of matters with optimal outcomes.

Jack Rouse

Jack is a Toowoomba local who completed his secondary schooling in the region before making the move to Brisbane to complete his tertiary education. Jack commenced his legal career under the guidance of barristers working in the areas of family and personal injury law in Brisbane before returning to the Toowoomba region in 2020, where he commenced his employment at Wilsons – The Family Lawyers. Jack has a strong connection with rural and remote areas of Queensland and New South Wales, growing up in a family that manages grazing, cotton and grain properties throughout the Darling Downs, South West Queensland and Central West New South Wales regions. Jack recognises the difficulties associated with living in remote communities and the practical challenges that are created in working through a separation, and he strives to reach both pragmatic and cost–effective resolutions for his clients. Jack has worked almost exclusively with Reagan since commencing employment at Wilsons, having a strong focus on complex financial farming matters, parenting disputes involving infants and young children, as well as trial–preparation and advocacy work. Jack enjoys overcoming difficult legal obstacles while providing his clients with practical and constructive perspectives and advice through his ‘hands–on’ style of practice. Jack is admitted as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland and registered on the High Court of Australia Register of Practitioners. Jack is also a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Family Law Practitioners Association. He participates in various not–for–profit organisations in the community, including as a board member of the Toowoomba Children’s Contact Centre and as a volunteer at community kitchens in the local area. While having his feet in both camps, you will find Jack wearing the maroon colours come State of Origin. He otherwise enjoys spending time outdoors camping or with his dog, Bert.

Jade Scheuerle

Solicitor
Prior to and shortly after being admitted as a solicitor in 2022, Jade practised in commercial litigation being exposed to a variety of debt recovery, bankruptcy and contractual commercial disputes until following her passion into family law in mid-2023 with Wilsons. Jade now practises exclusively in family law and primarily works with Katherine Marshall and Teigan Jones on complex parenting and property matters. Jade is an empathetic and caring family lawyer and her focus in parenting matters is to work with her clients to reach long term, practical solutions that consider the best interests of the children and where possible, resolve parenting disputes outside of court proceedings. In property matters, Jade enjoys assisting her clients through navigating property division to resolve the dispute efficiently. Wherever possible, Jade’s focus is on settling outside of court proceedings to contain costs and avoid delays however, Jade is equally as comfortable advocating for her clients in Court proceedings. Jade is completing her Masters of Applied Law (Family Law) and is a member of the Family Law Practitioners Association and the Women’s Legal Association of Queensland. In her spare time, Jade loves travelling and spending time with her husband and two children.

Bettina Kobelt

Senior Solicitor
Bettina has completed a Bachelor of Laws and was admitted as a legal practitioner in July 2020 following completion of her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. Hailing from the Northern Territory, Bettina completed her secondary schooling in Toowoomba before moving to the Gold Coast to complete her tertiary education. Bettina returned to the NT for 3 years following graduation and worked almost exclusively in family law before returning to Toowoomba to commence her employment at Wilsons – The Family Lawyers. Bettina now uses her significant experience to provide exemplary service to clients across all facets of family law, including property settlements, parenting arrangements, and domestic violence and child support matters. Bettina is passionate about alternative dispute resolution and assisting clients to resolve their matters amicably to stay out of the court system whenever practical. Where necessary, however, Bettina is comfortable working within the jurisdiction and provides a tailored approach to each individual matter. Outside of the office, Bettina enjoys travelling, reading, following motorsports and spending time with her family, including her 2 boisterous Rottweilers, Zeus and Kori.
